Countess Luann de Lesseps Throws a Massive New York City Bridal Shower

Luann de Lesseps Proposal StoryLuann de Lesseps shares her proposal story to Thomas D’Agostino Jr. exclusively with The Knot.

Luann de Lesseps is one step closer to walking down the aisle after throwing a massive bridal shower in New York City on Wednesday, September 28.

The festivities – which took place at the home of a friend of the Countess – included a ceremonial dinner. The night took a crazy turn when Lesseps and her guests were entertained by a male stripper.

According to E! News, the 51-year old Real Housewives of New York star invited between 30 and 40 of her closest friends to the gals only event. Per de Lesseps’ request, guests donned tiaras during the shower. The future bride’s blinged-out version read, “Bride to Be,” with a trio of sparkling hearts.

But the future bride only has eyes for her fiance, Thomas D’Agostino Jr. The duo – who have been engaged since February 5 – have just a few short months left before their New Year’s Eve nuptials, which also happens to be the groom’s 50th birthday.

The multi-day celebration will take place in Palm Beach, Florida. “His family lives there, and he has a place there. It’s a destination wedding so it’s a perfect place. I’m going to make a three-day thing like a party,” de Lesseps told The Knot after becoming engaged.

At the time, her future husband had already started planning. “Tom is so cute,” the Bravo star gushed of her fiance. “He started making a list on the plane. He had a business meeting in Atlanta and he started making a list. So he took it out of his pocket last night. [There were] names written down of people, and he goes, ‘Have you started making your list?’ I go, ‘No! You’re way ahead of me.’”

Since then, de Lesseps has made plenty of wedding planning progress. She’s chosen no less than three gowns for the big day. “I’m actually doing a couple of wedding dresses because it’s a big occasion,” she told Sirius XM’s Taylor Strecker last month . “I’m doing a traditional [dress] to walk down the aisle… lace not puffy. I’ve never been a puffy girl/type of person. Fitted and lacy and at the same time a little sexy, and I’m going to wear a veil.”

This will be D’Agostino’s first marriage, so his bride is looking forward to giving him a traditional wedding experience. “Tom has never been married, so I want him to have a real bride,” she explained. “I want him to see a bride [walk] down the aisle, [so] my thoughts are why not wear white? I’m doing a little white cream, a little blush.”

Because the nuptials will take place on her fiance’s birthday, de Lesseps wants to be sure to incorporate plenty of surprises. “So I’m wearing three dresses… the traditional one, the one I might sing a song for him in (I’m going to sing in a short dress), and the end of the night dress. It’s a bit revealing with some bling, but elegant at the same time, of course,” she told the Wake Up with Taylor host.

De Lesseps describes D’Agostino as her soul mate. “We enjoy all the same things. We’re the same people,” she previously told The Knot. “It’s pretty rare to find your match.” She added that her future hubby gives her the freedom to be a “social animal.”

The soon-to-be bride was previously married to Count Alexandre de Lesseps. They divorced in 2009 after a 16-year marriage. They have two children together.
