This was a drop everything kind of thing… because the one and only Luke Bryan crashed a couple’s wedding this weekend. The American Idol judge, who’s currently taping the reality competition show, hit the pause button to swing by one lucky couple’s wedding reception in Savannah, Georgia.
The official American Idol Facebook account posted a video from the nuptials of Bryan teasing his grand entrance. “We just did a day of auditions and we found out that like, two minutes away, there’s a real, live wedding happening,” the “Crash My Party” hitmaker says in the clip. “We heard that they’re big fans of mine, so we’re going to go have some fun and crash a real wedding,. Real quick.”
The clip shows the singer walking into the reception space in downtown Savannah as guests just so happened to be dancing along to one of his smash hits. Bryan greets the bride and groom, pops some champagne, and grabs the microphone to naturally perform of his hits.
At that point, everyone is on the dance floor. “I couldn’t believe it,” the bride, McKenna Neidlinger Lipski, told People. “The American Idol producers called the venue manager and asked it it would be okay for Luke to crash our wedding reception. The venue manager had to contact my mom to make sure we would be okay with it.”
Thankfully, the mother of the bride remained tight-lipped about the surprise. Watch the sweet clip above.
