The 35-year old Ukrainian heartthrob proposed to his Dancing With the Stars costar, Peta Murgatroyd, on Saturday, December 5. The tear-jerking moment was caught on camera, and Chmerkovskiy couldn’t wait to share the news that they’re engaged with fans on social media. He posted the sweet proposal photo on Instagram, captioning it, “She said ‘yes.'”

Murgatroyd, 29, wasn’t far behind her new fiance, posting a pic of the pair’s intimate, post-proposal kiss. “I said yes!!!!!! You have my heart forever my love. Love always wins @maksimc:”

The couple, who starred in the weekend production of Sway: A Dance Trilogy, at the Olympia Theater in Miami, Florida, were joined by fellow dancers, including Val Chmerkovskiy (Maksim’s brother), and DWTS alum Rumer Willis. Willis, daughter of superstar actor Bruce Willis, took to Instagram, sharing a selfie of the friends, which showed off Murgatroyd’s gorgeous ring. “My wifey is getting married!!!” Willis wrote. “Love you @petamurgatroyd, so happy for you.” Ā Ā Ā

Murgatroyd, looking beautiful in a pale blush dress, shared a close-up look of her engagementĀ ring while attendingĀ the SWAY Alfalit Gala at Gary Nader Art centre with her friends following the proposal. The stunning stoneĀ appears to be an emerald-cut diamond with large side stone accents.

The famous couple, who met on DWTS, dated for 10 months in 2012-2013, according to Us Weekly. After breaking it off, they reunited earlier this year and attended the JDRF Promise Ball Gala together in October.

Chmerkovskiy has been part of the Dancing With the StarsĀ cast since season two. Most-recently, he won season 18 with his partner, ice dancer, Meryl Davis.
Murgatroyd was the first dancer to be eliminated on season 13 of the show, which was her debut as a regular member of the professional cast. She came back the next season to win the show alongside former football player, Donald Driver, proving that second chances can have a completely different outcome.
As for second chances, we’re thrilled this talented pair decided to give it another shot. We wish them nothing but happiness, and we can hardly wait to see their first dance as newlyweds!
