In October, Mandy Moore and a few of her close girlfriends enjoyed a spooky fall weekend in New Orleans, which doubled as the star’s bachelorette getaway ahead of her wedding to singer Taylor Goldsmith. Overall, the weekend was rather tame with Moore recollecting it to Ellen DeGeneres on Monday, November 12.
“I mean we called it just a girls trip, but my friends were lovely to like take off on a Wednesday to go to New Orleans with me,” the This Is Us actress, 34, said of the trip, which took place in late October around Halloween. “We’re pretty tame. I mean, you know New Orleans people go and get pretty rowdy, but I think we were in bed by like 10 o’clock every night. We had a glass of wine and we’re like, ‘We’re good. We’re good.'”
During the day, the group had plenty to explore. “It’s the best,” Moore advocated for the city. “The food, the culture, the architecture.”
Along with winding down with wine, the group enjoyed a few nighttime activities in town. “We went on a ghost tour,” she continued. “We saw some jazz. We did all of it.”
Following the trip, Moore took to Instagram to share pics from the outing, including one cute shot of the girls sporting matching braids. “Eternally grateful for the greatest girlfriends who are equal parts spontaneous and generous,” she noted. “They’re always game for an adventure and manage to prioritize our friendships in the face of the busy lives we all lead (like going on a trip in the middle of week cause why not??). Nola- thanks for hosting us. We came, we saw, we ate all the food. Can’t wait for more with these [gem]s.”
Not much is known about how far along Moore is in her wedding planning process—as of July this year she had checked nothing off the list—but she knew what she wanted.
“I never imagined myself with some beautiful dress in front of 300 people. It will be quiet and private—just for us.” Moore told People. “I don’t think I’m going to have a big old affair. So I think it will be small and quiet and private.”
