Married at First Sight to Return for Season 4: Get the Details

Married in Miami! FYI’s breakout reality series Married at First Sight will return in July, the network announced to The Knot and other outlets on Wednesday, June 8.

Season 4 of the crazy social experiment will document singles based in Miami. The series previously covered couples from New York City and Atlanta.

According to FYI’s release, more than 30,000 candidates across the nation have applied to appear on Married at First Sight, and once again, producers have hand-selected six singles looking for lasting love. “Married at First Sight follow singles yearning for a life-long partnership as they agree to a provocative proposal,” notes the network. That risky proposal, of course, is legally marrying a stranger — at first sight.

The couples will then go from weddings to honeymoons to the initial stages of nesting. Naturally, things get uncomfortable. After several weeks of living together, they will then decide whether or not they want to continue with their marriage.

In an exclusive interview with The Knot this past week, Jamie Otis defended her decision to go on Married at First Sight, where she was partnered with her now-husband Doug Hehner. “First things first, married life doesn’t equal a life filled with butterflies, romance, and exotic dates,” Otis told The Knot.  “However, when you are married you have a partner in crime. Someone who you get to be with and share every single memory, event, and big life changes. Someone you get to grow a family with. It is a blessing to be married and conquer life together. Even plunging clogged toilets! ha!”

Along with the new Miami-based cast, two new specialists will also join the team. These new additions will replace outgoing psychologist Dr. Joseph Cilona and sexologist Dr. Logan Levkoff, who both announced recently that they will not be returning to a fourth season of the series. Meanwhile, sociologist Dr. Pepper Schwartz will maintain her role, and she will be joined by fresh new faces: Communication and relationship expert, Rachel DeAlto, as well as marriage counselor, Pastor Calvin Roberson.

Married at First Sight is currently the top-rated series on FYI and averages over half a million viewers each episode.

Tune in to the Season 4 premiere on FYI on Tuesday, July 26, at 9 p.m., ET/PT.
