What happens when an incredibly creative mind decides to create a runway-worthy wedding dress? Magic!
Ricardo Hardouin, a Miami International University of Art and Design fashion student, has created a one-of-a-kind wedding dress which recently hit the runway during the McDCouture Fashion Show at Funkshion Fashion Week. The show took place at The Setai Hotel on November 5 in Miami Beach, Florida.
How did Hardouin design this McDonald’s inspired dress? With a lot of creativity and paper! He used 900 white sandwich wrappers, 60 yellow sandwich wrappers, and 20 french fry boxes to create the unusual dress. The model bride was lovin’ it as she carried a matching bouquet and donned a cathedral length veil on the runway.
This isn’t the first time McDonald’s and marriage have gone hand & hand. In September, Mary Anne Purdy and John Romani said their vows at the top of the Big E during the famous New England Fair, before riding down the 46′ tall McDonald’s Giant Slide as husband and wife. The unique wedding took place after the couple won “The Big E Nuptials” contest on Facebook. Wedding-goers included McDonald’s mascot, Ronald McDonald.
Will The McDonald’s theme continue to show up on the wedding scene? Time will tell! One thing’s for sure… Runways everywhere may need to step up their game. Extraordinary wedding gowns like this could make the competition seem ordinary. Of course, a fast food-inspired wedding is a matter of taste.
