Mystery solved. Meghan Markle enthusiasts quickly noticed a new band neatly stacked on her ring finger at Trooping the Colour this past Saturday, June 8. The meaning behind the bling was finally revealed a few days later, and it’s a rather romantic gesture from Prince Harry.
The ring itself, an eternity pave diamond band, was stacked closest to Markle’s heart. On top, her wedding band and her engagement ring up adorned the same finger. According to People, the latest ring is a first wedding anniversary gift from Prince Harry after the couple marked a year of marriage on May 19.
Of course, Markle isn’t the only member of the family to sport an eternity ring. Kate Middleton, who joined the carriage of the Sussexes on Saturday, also received such an item from Prince William. The Duke of Cambridge gifted his wife with the piece back in July 2013, as a push present when they welcomed Prince George.

It’s been an incredibly eventful time for both Prince Harry and Markle, who married just a little over a year ago in a splendid Windsor Castle wedding spectated by millions around the world. On May 6, the couple welcomed their first child together, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, just a few weeks after moving from Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage.
The annual Trooping the Colour, an annual event for the British Royal Family, was Markle’s first time stepping out since introducing her baby to the world. Adorably, Prince Harry welcomed the Nepalese Prime Minister at Kensington Palace on Tuesday, June 11, and a rare portrait from his engagement session was spotted in the background of the room.
