Can we stand under their umbrella? Rain or shine, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continued on with their tour schedule in Dubbo, Australia on Wednesday, October 17.
The pair visited the Clontarf Foundation and Girls Academy Dubbo Senior College, followed by a stop by Victoria Park where a picnic was scheduled. However, the rain foiled much of the scheduled activities, prompting Prince Harry to gallantly hold an umbrella for his wife.
There was also a moment when they both held separate umbrellas, but remained coordinated enough to hold hands as they walked to their next destination.
When the Duke of Sussex was called to the stage, Harry handed his umbrella to Markle to shield her from the rain. However, the pregnant former actress—in an adorably supportive gesture—followed her husband up to the stage and shielded him from the rain during his speech.
The Mayor of Dubbo then offered up his umbrella to Prince Harry, which prompted the Duke of Sussex to reply: “It’s all right. I’ve got my wife.”

Other images from the day showed the pair cuddling and gazing adoringly at each other as heavy rain swept the region. Prior to the couple’s arrival, the city of Dubbo was stricken by a drought. Fifteen minutes later, heavy rain poured throughout the region.
After attending Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank this weekend, the couple announced their expectant baby news while in Australia on October 15.
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” the palace statement read. “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”
