There we have it. The royal couple has an official wedding photographer. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have selected a very familiar name to document their wedding day, opting to bring back the force behind their engagement photos, Alexi Lubomirski.
Lubomirski, a Polish photographer who’s best known for his high fashion work, will return to Windsor Castle next month to capture the biggest wedding to take place since Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 2011 nuptials. “I could not be more thrilled or honored to photograph this historic occasion,” Lubomirski said via a statement released by Kensington Palace. “Having taken Prince Harry and Ms. Markle’s engagement photos, it brings me such joy to be able to witness again, the next chapter in this wonderful love story.”
Interestingly enough, Lubomirski gave an interview this week about how he first connected with the couple (in a rather relatable way, via Instagram). “It was nutty,” Lubomirski told E! News. “It was a very surreal end to the year because it came out of nowhere. I think one of Meghan’s friends saw on Instagram that I was in England during the announcement of the engagement. And I was told later that this person said to her, ‘You should meet Alexi. He’s great. You’d love him.’ And that was it.”

Thankfully, the man behind the lens is already familiar with the venue, having documented photos on the grounds of Frogmore, where the couple will celebrate their evening reception. “It was one of the easiest, most joyful jobs because they were so deliciously in love,” he added in the same interview.
His one word of advice to the pair was simple: “Just be yourselves and I will take pictures of you,” he told Prince Harry and Markle.
According to the release, Lubomirski will take the official wedding day photos at Windsor Castle after the couple’s ceremony at St. George’s Chapel.
