If the slipper fits. Meghan Markle stepped out Wednesday in a pair of shoes that looked remarkably familiar—because they were the same heels she sported for her high-profile engagement announcement to Prince Harry.
The Duchess of Sussex stopped by the National Theatre in London as part of one of her royal patronages, opting for a pair of nude, pointed-toe stilettos by Aquazzura. The shoes, specifically known as the “Matilde” crisscross pumps, integrated seamlessly into Markle’s entirely beige look by Brandon Maxwell.
Markle famously chose the heels for her engagement photo call in November 2017 at the Sunken Gardens in Kensington Palace. At the time, she opted for a sleeveless green dress and a cocoon coat all paired with her sparkling new custom ring from Prince Harry.
Of course Aquazzura also played a role in Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry last May after the newly-minted duchess had stepped out for her evening wedding reception in a pair of the brand’s pumps that included blue soles. The overall secondary bridal outfit was completed with her now-beloved, halter-neck Stella McCartney gown and a stunning aquamarine cocktail ring that previously belonged to the late Princess Diana.
