Michael Phelps and Nicole Johnson‘s secret June wedding was only the beginning! The record-breaking Olympian and his bride held a second ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on Saturday, October 29.
This time, the couple immediately went public with the news. Just hours after the nuptials, Johnson changed her Instagram handle to Mrs. Nicole Phelps, and both bride and groom shared photos from the lavish, beachfront celebration on the popular social media platform.
“My best friend…. I love you!!” Phelps, 31, wrote alongside a photo of the newlyweds walking down the aisle after their outdoor wedding.
“Truly the happiest day of my life @m_phelps00 thank you @boonestudios for capturing this day,” Johnson, 31, captioned an equally gorgeous post-ceremony snap of the couple.

Phelps donned a heather grey suit with a light blue tie, and his bride stunned in a unique, form-fitting gown with French lace and a silk chiffon skirt designed by Julie Vino, according to People. “She did not want the traditional bridal gown,” the Israeli designer told the magazine.
This has been a whirlwind year for Phelps and Johnson. They welcomed their son, Boomer, back on May 5 before exchanging vows just over a month later on June 15. Not long after, Phelps and his family would jet off to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where the most-decorated Olympian would add five gold and one silver medals to his impressive collection.
Phelps and Johnson got engaged back in February 2015 after dating off and on for nearly eight years. With 2016 being jam-packed with the arrival of their son and the Summer Olympics, it’s understandable that the duo decided to keep mum about their first wedding.
But this last Thursday, Phelps broke his silence when he posted a video on Facebook. “You guys probably already saw the article that was posted [about the wedding],” he mused during a golf outing with friends. “I’ve been married for a while, been married for a while–a couple months. I had to keep it secret from y’all. I had to keep it hush-hush from you guys.”
He then made the announcement his 8 million-plus fans had been waiting for. “Nicole and I are married. We are officially married,” he said while steering his golf cart. “Now we are getting the chance to officially kick it and hang out now.”
On Wednesday, the athlete hinted that he and his wife may be expecting a second baby. “Why is it a secret? Just because,” he said mischievously on Facebook. “Baby No. 2 may be coming soon. Who knows though.”
