If everyone you know seemingly attended a wedding this weekend (including Prince George and Princess Charlotte), another public figure to have a role in a ceremony was former First Lady Michelle Obama, who was tapped to officiate a wedding in Chicago.

It was a gloriously sunny fall day in the Windy City, where the couple Joel Sircus and Stephanie Rivkin married outdoors at the Theater on the Lake on Saturday, September 22. The bride, also the daughter of the Deputy Mayor of Chicago (which is likely the key connection), allowed guests to have their phones on hand to witness the occasion.

Naturally, one of her cousins–delighted by Michelle’s gracious gesture–decided to document the vow portion when the former first lady appeared before assembled guests in a floor-length black gown. “That moment when Michelle Obama officiated at your [cousin]’s wedding!” the person wrote on Instagram Stories.

In the clip obtained by TMZ, the officiant of honor has the couple recite traditional wedding vows before the congregation. The former FLOTUS will very soon and once again be accustomed to large audiences fixated on her presence with her upcoming book launch stadium tour for Becoming.

Meanwhile, she isn’t the only celeb officiant to make a splash. Her husband, the 44th President of the Untied States, officiated the wedding between two of his former staffers, Dana Remus and Brett Holmgren, in a D.C. wedding this past January.
