It’s precious cargo. Mila Kunis revealed in a new interview that she keeps her gorgeous Tiffany & Co. engagement ring from husband Ashton Kutcher locked away in a safe — and with good reason.
The Bad Moms star, 32, opened up to Australia’s Kyle and Jackie O show on Monday about the pricey sparkler, which she rarely wears in public. “My engagement ring is in a safety deposit box,” Kunis noted. “I’m like, ‘I can’t wear this because someone’s going to chop my hand off for it.’”
Despite concealing the pricey sparkler, Kunis described the ring as “incredibly beautiful,” and dished more details about her significantly cheaper wedding bands. The actress revealed to Conan O’Brien last month that she and Kutcher had purchased their rings from Etsy for $190 total.
“I decided our wedding bands were going to be wonderful and beautiful and simple,” she said Monday. “Mine is 1mm platinum and his is 2mm yellow gold and made by a wonderful little old lady.”
The pregnant-again star told O’Brien that she could not justify the steep prices of other wedding bands offered by luxury jewelry companies. “I was like, ‘They’re how much? This is astronomical!’” Kunis recalled. “So, I went on Etsy and I was like, ‘$90?’ I was like, ‘Buy now!’ $90 everybody.’”
In fact, her husband’s band cost slightly more. “Ashton’s was $100, so technically his wedding band was a little bit more expensive,” she shared. “My engagement ring is beautiful, but I don’t ever wear it. This ring, I’m like, ‘It’s $90!’ It’s great,” she noted. “That person on Etsy had no clue whose ring they were making, but they were wonderful and very nice and polite and generous.”
Kunis and Kutcher first met on the set of That ‘70s Show. After decades of friendship, the stars eventually married in July 2015. They share a sweet little girl named Wyatt and they’re currently expecting their second child.
