First impressions can be deceiving. That was certainly the case when Miranda Kerr met her fiance Evan Spiegel.
In a new interview with U.K. paper The Times, the 33-year-old supermodel revealed she didn’t recognize the Snapchat founder and CEO when they both attended a Louis Vuitton dinner in Los Angeles back in 2015.
“I was like, ‘He’s cute… but he’s way too young to take seriously,’” she told the newspaper.
After that chance meeting, Kerr and Spiegel kept in touch despite the model’s reservations. “It was slow and steady. I was like, ‘Is he even interested?’ But once I let him know I was interested, he was very interested,” she said.
When asked whether she and Spiegel plan on having children together, Kerr replied: “Not yet. Not until after we get married. My partner is very traditional.”
Kerr is no longer concerned about the age difference between she and her fiance. “He’s 25, but acts like he’s 50,” she told The Edit in a January 2016 interview. “He’s not out partying. He goes to work in [L.A.’s] Venice. He comes home. We don’t go out. We’d rather be at home and have dinner, go to bed early.”
The former Victoria’s Secret model first announced the couple’s engagement last summer. “I said yes!!!” she captioned an image of her gorgeous diamond ring.
Spiegel proposed just five months after the duo made their public debut at the pre-Grammy Gala last February.
This will be the second marriage for Kerr, who was previously married to actor Orlando Bloom. Their son, Flynn, turned six back in January.
