Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are supposedly wasting no time with their wedding checklist. The superstar couple, who got engaged this past summer, are set to exchange vows before the end of the calendar year, according to multiple reports.
Jonas, 26, and Chopra, 36, haven’t publicly announced their wedding date just yet, but a recent Us Weekly report suggests that the pair are looking to wed in India this December.
“They really want to blend wedding traditions from both of their cultures that are important to them,” a source previously told Us. “Priyanka is having a really good time planning the wedding because it’s a mix of Indian and American styles and customs, which she knows so much about.”
According to the Hindustan Times, the pair’s nuptials may coincide with two other major celebrity weddings in India—that of Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, and that of actor-comedian Kapil Sharma and Ginni Chatrath. So far, however, the Times can only confirm that the couple’s Sangeet and Mehndi services will start on November 29, which aligns with Us Weekly’s report that the actual wedding ceremony itself will take place in December.
The Times reports that the invitations have already been sent out to their 110 guests, mostly only relatives and close friends, and that the three day-long event will culminate with a reception on December 1.
Earlier this year, Jonas and Chopra caused a stir when they took part in the traditional Roka ceremony in Mumbai. There, the couple’s two families joined together at the Chopra family home, as is custom, and exchanged gifts of sweets, dried fruit and cash. It was also during that occasion that the two confirmed they were engaged with Chopra debuting her Tiffany & Co. sparkler.
“I think we had a conversation about it when we were dating and I’ve always known it had to be Tiffany,” Chopra told People in early October. “First, it was Breakfast at Tiffany’s that did it for every girl in the world and then, of course, Sweet Home Alabama came and put a stamp on it that it has to be Tiffany!”
The future spouses, according to another Us Weekly source, is even already looking ahead to starting a family together. “Nick and Priyanka can’t wait to get married,” the source said. “They have amazing chemistry and can’t wait to have kids. They are going to wait till after the wedding to start trying. But it’s definitely on the agenda.”
