Nicole Kidman is focusing on family this holiday season. While visiting The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday, December 13, the Academy Award-winning actress, 49, revealed that she and her husband, Keith Urban, will not be exchanging presents.
“We don’t give each other gifts at Christmas,” Kidman told DeGeneres.
“Do you think you’ll end up getting him something even though you both say you’re not?” the talk show host enquired.
“I’ll kiss him,” the actress joked.
“Like that doesn’t happen every day,” DeGeneres countered.
“He’s in Australia right now, and the girls and I are here,” Kidman explained. “We’re flying to him tonight, so we’re his presents.”
While Kidman and her musician husband, 49, choose not to swap holiday gifts, their daughters, Sunday Rose, 8, and Faith Margaret, 5, will have plenty of presents to unwrap under the tree.
“They want American [Girl] dolls, and they want candy, and they want, want, want,” the actress told DeGeneres.
But the famous mom is also teaching her children the importance of giving. She was inspired after reading a recent article about children giving back. “They get to choose a charity to donate to, and then we donate. They get to go online and choose it,” she explained.
Kidman’s current film, Lion, is currently in theaters, and Urban is busy traveling for his Ripcord World Tour in Australia. He returns to the States for the Jack Daniel’s Music City Midnight event in Nashville, Tennessee on New Year’s Eve.
