‘Cause he wants it all. O-Town band member Jacob Underwood is engaged to girlfriend Chandler Bay, the couple announced Thursday, May 10.
In an exclusive reveal to People, Underwood shared his sweet Parisian proposal story as well as another big portion of their future: the couple is expecting a baby. The boy band member and Bay both took to Instagram to revel in their big news this week. “As if our life together wasn’t already filled with so much adventure, we are so excited for the greatest adventure of all. #PartyOfThree,” the future bride expressed on social media, while Underwood added: “My heart has never been so full and our world will never be the same.”
In their accompanying interview with the mag, Underwood revealed he had popped the question below the glimmering evening lights of the famed Eiffel Tower. “About seven months ago, we booked a tour in the U.K. and when I asked her of all places in the world she wanted to visit, she immediately said, ‘Paris, to see the Eiffel Tower.’ So I put the proposal plans in action!” the singer mused.
“I had planned it for seven months, making sure the guys knew and were there to record the proposal,” he continued. “I staged a picture on the carousel with the Eiffel Tower in the background so she wouldn’t get suspicious with all the cameras out, then I got on one knee. It was everything I had hoped for and more. She said yes.”
The pair first met in April 2016 at a karaoke bar in Nashville, Tennessee. For Underwood, the initial attraction was actually Bay’s voice. “When I got closer and realized how beautiful she was, I was at a loss for words (for once) and with complete honesty, I said, ‘Where did you come from, suddenly into my life?’” he expressed to People.
