Every so often, we come across a themed shower or event that truly speaks to pop culture enthusiasts everywhere. This week, that particular honor went to Kayleigh Brown of Coral Springs, Florida, who recently enjoyed an Office-themed bridal shower as a nod to her favorite TV show starring Steve Carrell, John Krasinski and more.
“Honestly, The Office has gotten me through countless hours of wedding planning so far,” Brown tells The Knot. The wedding will even include key nods to Michael Scott, Dwight Schrute, power couple Jim and Pam, and more.
“Our wedding website is ThreatLevel.wedding, and our hashtag is #threatlevelwedding,” Brown adds. “My signature drink is called ‘That’s What She Said.'”
Brown and her friends truly embraced the theme, opting for a Meredith-friendly mimosa bar, which included a framed meme of the vodka-adoring character.
Other hilarious touches included candles decorated with tiny “Serenity by Jan” signs for favors. “Watching Michael and Jan attempt to be ‘play house’ makes for some of the greatest moments in [the show’s] history,” she tells us of her favorite episode.
Her pals, also clearly fans of the show, erected a welcome sign that read: “No Tobys allowed.”
When it comes to a favorite character, Brown says it’s “super difficult to narrow it down.” She adds, “Each character brings something different to the show, but my top three are Dwight, Mose, and Meredith.”
The attention to detail even filtered down to a makeshift build-your-own Stanley pretzel station in honor of the Pretzel Day-adoring character at Dunder Mifflin.
The couple will marry on June 29. “Just watching the show while planning has helped keep it a fun and [far less of a ] stressful process,” she adds. “There may even be a reference or two in my vows… we’ll see!”
Overall, it will be true to their love story. “We’re trying to be low-key with our additions at the wedding,” she reflects, “since I also have some Harry Potter and Star Wars references throughout.”
