The color you’ll be seeing everywhere next year is here. Pantone, the authority on color, announced its 2019 Color of the Year as “Living Coral” on Wednesday, December 5, and it hits the mark for spring and summertime weddings.

The company describes the hue as: “An animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.”

Pantone explained why this particular hue was its choice this year, saying the selection was a “reaction to the onslaught of digital technology and social media increasingly embedding into daily life.”

“We are seeking authentic and immersive experiences that enable connection and intimacy,” the brand added.

The Color of the Year plays a role in consumer trends and influences everything from bridesmaid dress colors all the way to, yes, KitchenAid Stand Mixers. Prior years, the colors to be selected by Pantone include: Ultra Violet (2018), Greenery (2017), Rose Quartz and Serenity (2016) and Marsala (2015).
