New money, suit and tie! Dancing With the Stars duo Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy will set a lavish tone this summer when they’re the first couple to officially marry from the smash ABC dance competition series in 2017.
The location for their lavish upcoming nuptials was revealed this weekend by the groom, who unfortunately is currently tending to a calf injury. “We have an amazing, amazing space on Long Island,” Chmerkovskiy recently told ABC News. “Oheka [Castle]. It’s going to be great.”
The historic venue, which sits on 443 acres of lush greenery in Huntington, New York, has been a celebrity-beloved hot spot for weddings and other shoots over the years. In 2014, the venue skyrocketed to resurged fame after Taylor Swift featured the mansion and its property in her “Blank Space” music video. The video has over a billion views on YouTube to date.
Stars who’ve previously married at Oheka include Kevin Jonas and Joey Fatone, who both had their respective weddings planned by Mikie Russo of Michael Russo Events. The property has also been featured on shows like The Americans, Gossip Girl, Madam Secretary, and Royal Pains.
Mugatroyd previously told The Knot in an exclusive interview that she’s slowly preparing for the July 2017 nuptials. It will be a three-day celebration in Long Island, and the bride will wear numerous dresses.
“I’ve realized the dresses that I want. For my actual day, I want a very big dress… a full dress; nothing too crazy,” she noted. “For the party afterwards, I definitely want something that’s fun, and just like a party version of that dress.”
The couple welcomed their baby son in early January, and they are currently competing on DWTS. “Who doesn’t want to look incredibly fit and beautiful on their day?” Murgatroyd previously told The Knot. “I’m used to being fit and active, so it’s been a big change having to slow down a little bit.”
