Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy just danced their way into married life! The Dancing With the Stars pros exchanged vows in Long Island, New York, on Saturday, July 8, at Oheka Castle—a venue near and dear to the groom’s heart.
“Maks has loved this place for years, and I took on the suggestion and I fell in love with it immediately,” Murgatroyd, 30, told People. “I had never thought of being married in a castle, but my jaw dropped when I first saw it.”
The bride wore a gorgeous ivory ball gown with off-the-shoulder styling. “I didn’t want a stark white dress,” she told the mag. “I just love the old-fashioned feel of the ivory. Especially against the castle, I didn’t want stark white. I think it’s more sleek, in a way.”
The couple’s 6-month-old son Shai Aleksander served as “prince of honor,” and Murgatroyd’s father walked her down the aisle. The groom’s younger brother and fellow dance pro Val Chmerkovskiy stood in as best man. DWTS season 20 winner Rumer Willis and dancers Sharna Burgess and Tony Dovolani were part of the wedding party.
Guests included actress Candace Cameron Bure, dancer Jenna Johnson and model Nyle DiMarco. Dance pro Kym Johnson and her Shark Tank star hubby, Robert Herjavec, also attended.
Willis posted a pre-ceremony pic of she and Burgess rocking satin robes. “We ready!!! #bridesmaids #chmergatroydwedding,” she captioned the Instagram post.

Guests cheered as the newly married duo shared their first kiss as husband and wife, and posted snaps of the celebration throughout the evening on social media.

One sweet snap features the newlyweds kissing beneath a vibrant rainbow.
Rather than choreograph a complicated number for their first dance, Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy, 37, opted for a simple, romantic slow dance. Afterward, guests joined the lovebirds on the dance floor and appear to have had a fabulous time.

The bride’s neutral palette worked beautifully against the castle’s picturesque grounds. “There are so many flowers and candles and crystals everywhere,” she told People. “I wanted the entire celebration to be super-chic and glamorous. I just wanted it to be just so pure and gorgeous.”
Murgatroyd will never forget her dream day. “I’ve always wanted to get married—and only get married once—so this is really special moment for me,” she concluded. “I can’t speak for every girl, but when you first step onto that runway and see the love of your life at the end of the path waiting for you, I think that’s going to be a moment that I’ve always waited for—just to see his face.”
