All in the family. Pippa Middleton’s younger brother, James, created personalized marshmallows for his big sister’s wedding day, in what may just be the sweetest contribution any sibling could make for his big sis — literally.
According to UK’s Hello! Online, the treats in question reportedly featured the newlyweds’ initials imprinted on the front, and were gifted to all 350 guests who attended the wedding breakfast. James, a 33-year-old self-appointed “Wonka-in-Chief,” also created personalized cupcakes for Kate Middleton’s royal wedding to Prince William in 2011.
The typically private Middleton sibling gave a rare interview with the Daily Mail last November, opening up about what it’s like to be known for his famous sisters.
“It’s always been, whether at school or now, that I am Pippa and Catherine’s little brother,” he told the site. “It’s probably going to be the story of my life. [But] I am James Middleton. I am very proud to be ‘the little brother of…’ but, equally, they are proud that I am who I am.”
Added the marshmallow connoisseur, “My sisters were very successful and confident. It was, ‘Oh, you are Pippa’s brother! Are you Catherine’s brother?’ And so I was automatically put into the top sports teams and academic sets. But I was a bit of a squirt when I first started, so then it would be, ‘Are you sure you’re a Middleton?’”
The Duchess of Camridge also made a subtle, but meaningful, contribution to Pippa’s wedding. The former art history major drew a sketch of St. Mark’s Church that was featured on the program for Pippa’s wedding ceremony.
According to The Sun, Reverend Nick Wynne-Jones, who led the ceremony, called the illustration a “lovely piece,” and Pippa’s groom James Matthews referenced the sketch during his speech later that evening. “And to Pippa’s sister Kate, such ability — a beautiful drawing of St. Mark’s Church in the order of service.”
