An immaculate vision in white. Amal Clooney, who’s currently expecting her first child with husband George Clooney, proudly debuted her baby bump on Friday, February 24.
The human-rights attorney stepped out in Paris to support her world-famous husband at the 42nd annual César Awards, where he received the top honor of “the most charismatic actor of his generation.”
Amal appeared ready to walk down the aisle (again!) on Friday in a strapless, white ombre gown featuring tiers of plumage. Mrs. Clooney’s feathered skirt gradually transitioned from gleaming white to pitch black, while the bodice of the gown itself was a snowy white color.
Her bridal-inspired gown was paired elegantly with a bold swipe of red lip color and a matching, white, fur stole draped around her arms.
For the couple’s actual Venetian wedding in 2014, Clooney wore a custom Oscar de la Renta gown comprised of ivory tulle, Chantilly lace, and hand-embroidered crystals and beads. “George and I wanted a wedding that was romantic and elegant, and I can’t imagine anyone more able than Oscar to capture this mood in a dress,” she previously told Vogue. “Meeting him made the design process all the more magical, as he is so warm and such a gentleman.”
After months of speculation, the couple’s pregnancy news was finally confirmed on February 9 by The Talk co-host Julie Chen. The actor directly addressed the pregnancy news this week in an interview with Paris Match.
“We decided to be much more responsible, to avoid the danger,” he said. “I won’t go to South Sudan any more or the Congo, Amal will no longer go to Iraq and she’ll avoid places where she knows she isn’t welcome.”
