President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama dazzled while hosting their final state dinner at the White House on Tuesday, October 18.

The Commander-in-Chief and his wife looked happily in love during the lavish gathering, which included dignitaries and stars. The first lady sent a powerful message on Tuesday evening in a rose gold, off-the-shoulder Atelier Versace gown. She opted to wear her hair down in a sleek, side-swept style. Her husband, meanwhile, donned a classic black-and-white tuxedo.

In several photos, the impeccably dressed duo stared lovingly into each other’s eyes while greeting their guests outside.

The devoted duo hosted Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and his wife, Agnese Landini, for the Obama administration’s final state dinner. Celebrity chef Mario Batali lent a helping hand with the menu, which included canapés, agnolotti stuffed with sweet potatoes and spices, roasted butternut squash salad, beef tenderloin, and a green apple crostata.

President Obama’s love for his wife has been evident throughout his time in office. At a previous state dinner in August, he looked enamored with his wife, even signaling a thumbs up to express his approval of her gorgeous Brandon Maxwell gown.

Back in July, the Commander in Chief professed unwavering love for his wife after she delivered a rousing speech at the Democratic National Convention. “Incredible speech by an incredible woman,” he gushed on Twitter. “Couldn’t be more proud & our country has been blessed to have her as FLOTUS. I love you, Michelle.”
