A ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Surprise Proposal Leaves One Little Liar Speechless

Pretty Little Liars proposal

Dirty little secrets and a surprise proposal! Fans of Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars have learned to expect the unexpected over the course of seven nail-biting seasons. On the latest episode, an unforeseen marriage proposal leaves one of the main characters speechless.

Here, The Knot gives PLL fans a look at the Tuesday, July 19, episode. Read on to find out which character may get a break from her devious ways in order to plan her wedding. Although Aria, Spencer, and Emily vividly recall burying Elliott after the hit and run, there’s evidence that Alison‘s husband may be alive and on the run.

Aria is on edge when Ezra texts her from The Brew. He tells her they need to talk and asks her to meet him there.

When Aria arrives at The Brew, Ezra is nowhere to be found. It’s vacant and dark, and Ezra doesn’t answer as she calls his name. She walks upstairs to find candles burning everywhere. Ezra appears, but it’s unclear what he’s going to share with Aria. He tells her he’s going to talk, she’s going to listen, and then she will have a chance to respond. The atmosphere seems eerie, but soon Ezra begins a heartfelt speech.

“You told me once a long time ago that you couldn’t imagine your life without me, and I told you that I wanted you in mine,” he said wistfully.

“Then we spent years apart – a world apart,” he continued. “Five years later, when you walked in the door after all that time, it felt like the last flat stretch of a roller coaster ride comes to a stop – where your stomach’s flipping out and your knees are weak, but you can breathe again. That’s when I knew I want you in my life, Aria, for the rest of my life. I don’t ever wanna let you go.”

As Ezra drops to one knee, Aria attempts to interject. “I have just one more thing to say,” he says, quieting his clearly confused girlfriend. “Aria Marie Montgomery, will you marry me?”

The episode ends on a cliffhanger with Aria undoubtedly stunned. Will she agree to be Ezra’s husband? Or will guilt get in the way of making a decision that will impact the rest of her life?

Find out on Pretty Little Liars airing Tuesday, August 2, at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
