With their destinies up in the air, the Pretty Little Liars are making major life decisions ahead of the upcoming season finale. Showrunner I. Marlene King teased multiple weddings in the final three episodes and, true to her word, one PLL pair made their union official on the Tuesday, June 13, episode.
Tensions run high when the liars receive a text from A.D. giving them 36 hours to decide which gal will go to jail. Hanna (Ashley Benson), however, makes time to marry Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) at the Rosewood Courthouse.
Although his main motivation may be to marry “while they still can,” Caleb has ulterior motives for the impromptu nuptials, as marriage prevents the couple from testifying against each other in court.
As it turns out, Caleb is prepared with rings and a single witness for the intimate ceremony. Ashley (Laura Leighton) is on hand with a bouquet of flowers for Hanna. Ashley explains that she’s hired a lawyer, but tonight is a celebration.
While it’s unsure whether the show’s final scene will involve a wedding, it’s sure to be epic! “These ladies that you’ve grown to love, they came to us and they asked us if the last scene of the last day of the last episode, they could all be in the last shot,” executive producer Lisa Cochran-Neilan revealed earlier this month. “It will be my favorite moment because everybody was there. It was very late—or shall I say very early in terms of time—but I will tell you that there was a sincere feeling of closure at that moment. Everybody was there. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place.”
There are more surprises and celebrations to come on Pretty Little Liars, airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
