Priyanka Chopra, like you, wouldn’t be opposed to witnessing another royal wedding. The Baywatch actress, who’s good friends with actress Meghan Markle, shared new tidbits about the Suits star’s high-profile relationship with Prince Harry.
Just this past weekend, the handsome British royal and Markle quietly slipped into Pippa Middleton’s wedding reception together as there’s speculation that the couple could soon be planning their very own nuptials. Naturally, Chopra was pressed about the topic during an interview on The Wendy Williams Show on Wednesday, May 24.
According to Chopra, she and Markle haven’t exactly spoken about a potential engagement. “High profile relationships are so stressful anyway,” the Quantico star noted. “So as a friend, I wouldn’t like to add on that at all.” Added Chopra, “We talk about more my stress than hers. She doesn’t seem to have any right now.”
Williams, though, asked the top-of-mind question these days: “Do you think they’ll get married?” the TV personality inquired.
“I don’t know. I hope so!” Chopra replied. “She seems happy. I think they look great together.”
In the event of a royal wedding, it’s likely that Chopra will not be a member of the bridal party. “I don’t think I’m that close to her,” the worldwide superstar noted. “I don’t know that. I mean, I’ve known her about two years now. We randomly met at a party and got on really well. So, I don’t know. Once I get the invite… if I’m even invited.”
Harry first confirmed that he was dating Markle last November, issuing a rare public statement through his communications secretary about her well-being. “He feels lucky to have so many people supporting him and knows what a fortunate and privileged life he leads. But the past week has seen a line crossed,” the statement read. “His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment… This is not a game — it is her life and his.”
The two made their first public outing several weeks ago at the annual Polo Challenge.
