In this case, the smaller the better. Property Brothers star Drew Scott put an immense amount of thought and consideration while planning his December 13 proposal, starting with the engagement ring he custom-designed for his now-fiancee, Linda Phan.
The HGTV hunk, 38, knew his girlfriend of six years wasn’t a fan of large, flashy jewelry, so he set out to craft a dainty ring that would perfectly suit his future wife.
“I had an image in mind for this ring long before I designed it,” Scott told People on Tuesday, December 20. “Linda doesn’t wear rings often and because she’s so petite, when she does, they are typically a small, simple, classy look. However I wanted to design a ring that still had a little style, so I incorporated a four-prong swirl solitaire mount for the 14-karat white gold ring.”

Scott concealed the ring from Phan for several weeks (they live together!) and he eventually pulled off the elaborate proposal last week at a Toronto restaurant. The real estate guru pre-recorded his own cover of Train’s “Marry Me,” and had servers bring out a cake that featured designs from Dr. Seuss’ Oh the Places You’ll Go. The cake, however, read: “Oh the Places We’ll Go.” He then asked Phan to marry him.
Along with the ring details, Scott took to Twitter on Monday night to share audio of the Train single he stealthily recorded in New York City and played for Phan during the proposal. “Here’s the song I recorded to pop the question,” the reality personality revealed.

The couple first met at a 2010 Toronto Fashion Week party, and currently co-own a home with Scott’s twin brother, Jonathan.
“From the first moment I met Linda, back in 2010, I knew she was special,” Drew shared last week. “And last night I became the luckiest man on the planet when she said #ido ❤️.”
Listen to his sweet cover, above!
