Scott’s taken! Property Brothers star Drew Scott is engaged to his girlfriend, Linda Phan.
The HGTV personality, 38, revealed his engagement news to People on Tuesday, December 13, telling the mag that he proposed inside a restaurant in Toronto. Scott, who had been planning to propose for several weeks, carried the ring around with him so that his fiancee wouldn’t uncover the details.
“I’ve had to be as stealthy as a ninja to pull this off,” Scott told People. “I’ve never met another woman like her and once you do, you want to be with her forever.”
The reality star told People that he had pre-recorded a cover of Train’s “Marry Me,” which he had the restaurant play during dinner. He then added another romantic layer to the surprise—with a cake that featured a graphic from Dr. Seuss’s beloved children’s book, Oh the Places You’ll Go, which instead read, “Oh the Places We’ll Go.”
This time, the engagement was real. The couple famously pulled an April Fool’s Day prank on fans in Spring 2015, pretending that they were engaged.

Scott and Phan have been dating since 2010, after meeting at a fashion event. In a 2013 interview with Your Tango, the real estate guru shared how he keeps his romance healthy.
“It sounds cliché but communication is the number one way to keep a relationship solid,” he expressed at the time. “You can’t just assume that everything is perfect—like anything you are passionate about, ask questions, express your own feelings, and take a genuine interest in making the relationship the best it can be. That and lots of ice cream make a happy relationship.”
Phan—the creative director of the brothers’ brand—and Scott have already taken a big, life step forward: the two already co-own a home with his brother, Jonathan.
