Now that Rachel Lindsay has found lasting love with fiancé Bryan Abasolo, the season 13 Bachelorette is focusing on her engagement and looking ahead to the next step: walking down the aisle. “I never had the dream wedding plans,” Lindsay, 32, tells The Knot and other reporters. “I just wanted to find my dream guy, which I’ve done.”
The Dallas-based attorney is largely considering logistics and the overall vibe. “I do want it to be big, because I have a big family. Bryan has a big family,” she says. “I want it to be in a convenient place so our family can get there. And I just want to have fun. I want to party [and for] everybody to have the time of their lives. Celebrating life and love.”
Abasolo is on the same page. He adds, “I echo that statement.”
The two have also agreed on a winter wedding that will take place in late 2018 or early 2019. Abasolo, 37, is intent on leaving the specifics up to the future bride. “I’m a very simple guy,” the Miami-based chiropractor says. “I’m thinking a white-themed wedding. I’m not very picky. I’m going to let Rachel handle the details. She’ll just tell me to show up and I’ll be there.”
While wedding plans are imminent, the two are primarily focused on their now-public engagement. “We don’t want to rush anything,” Lindsay told longtime franchise host Chris Harrison after the proposal aired on Monday, August 7. For now, the couple is looking forward to coffee dates in public and enjoying nights out. “I’m not one to hide,” she added.

What’s certain is that the duo’s love has only grown since their time on the show. “I learned a long time ago that nobody knows your relationship like you do,” Rachel tells The Knot and others. “People give me credit about being a smart girl and I really was smart about navigating through these relationships. And Bryan is extremely sincere. He’s definitely the most sincere guy in the house. I think because he was so direct and straightforward with it, it was like something you hadn’t seen before. And I questioned Bryan. And Bryan, you hear me say, ‘He was the most steady and constant man in the house.’ That still rings true today.”
Abasolo took to Instagram on Tuesday to profess his love for Lindsay. “Every single day literally gets better and better with you and reaffirms that God placed you in my path for a reason,” he wrote in an emotional Instagram post. “We’ve gone through so much… the ups, the downs, the challenges… but in the end, what shines above all else is the deep love, loyalty, respect and admiration we have for each other, and that’s what will continue to carry us through into our future.”
Lindsay followed up with an equally sweet message to her future husband. “We found love in such a public way, but the depths of our love is something that only we will know and will have between each other forever,” she gushed. “I would do it all over again if it led me back to you. You are my better half… Thank you for loving me unconditionally.”
