Money can’t buy you the perfect engagement party. Countess Luann de Lesseps’ engagement to Thomas D’Agostino Jr. was finally revealed on last week’s episode of the Real Housewives of New York City, and the criticism from her fellow Bravo stars continued during an awkward engagement party on Wednesday, July 20.
On the latest episode, the Countess continues to celebrate her future marriage during a fabulous, pre-planned ski trip with her new fiance. Originally, Tom wanted to propose during that trip — Luann shared this, along with other exclusive details about her engagement, with The Knot in February — but he couldn’t wait to propose.
Meanwhile, Luann’s fellow Housewives continue to question the relationship during a colorful trip to the Mohegan Sun casino. Luann’s fellow original New York Housewife, Ramona Singer, does not appear to handle the engagement well — and even takes it upon herself to step in as the couple’s engagement party planner. (What?!)
Ramona, however, never received permission to plan this party — and the reason why was obvious: She’s one of D’Agostino’s exes. Then, there’s the issue that Ramona cannot stop talking about how she used to date Luann’s new fiance. She even goes so far to suggest that the future bride and groom-to-be aren’t truly in love, and that he’s not even close to settling down.
Therefore, Luann’s close pal Dorinda Medley inserts herself into the engagement party planning process, and goes behind Ramona’s back to orchestrate a grand affair. Only, it all backfired.
Due to Ramona and Dorinda’s ridiculously quick turnaround, the party ended up only having six guests. And the real kicker? Three out of the six guests (all Real Housewives of New York stars) had previously had some sort of “relation” with Luann’s new fiance. Yikes.
