It’s true! Game of Thrones couple Rose Leslie and Kit Harington, who played on-screen lovebirds in HBO’s fantasy franchise, are getting married. After news broke that the two are engaged on Tuesday, September 26, the couple then took to the Times of London to confirm the milestone.
It reads: “MR. K.C. HARINGTON AND MISS R.E. LESLIE. The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughters of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire.”
The pair first started dating in 2012 while shooting scenes for the series in Iceland. “Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love,” Harington told L’Uomo Vogue. “If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love.”
Leslie, who’s of Scottish descent, said in a separate interview with the Telegraph, “It’s a really, really stunning place and we saw the Northern Lights, which was extraordinary. I’ve never before been somewhere so vast and magic.”
Leslie’s character, Ygritte, was killed off in season 4, but Harington’s iconic Jon Snow lives on.
