Ryan Seacrest has just added a new role to his long line of hosting gigs: Man of Honor.  Seacrest, 40, accepted his sister Meredith’s poetic request on Thursday, October 8, and will stand by her side on her wedding day.

Seacrest tweeted a photo of the poem his sister gave him to ask for him to join the wedding party, writing, “I have a role in my sister’s wedding… Just shed a tear.  Love you Mere.”

The bride-to-be sent Seacrest a printed poem about how she needed her brother as her Man of Honor which read, “You’ve been by my side all of my life and I wouldn’t want you anywhere else, when I become a wife.”

The note finished with, “I’m so lucky to have you as my brother, and couldn’t imagine celebrating with anyone other.  So basically what I’m trying to say… Will you be my Man of Honor on my special day!?”

Last month, Seacrest helped announce the news of his sister’s engagement when he posted a photo of the two with the caption, “Finally the pressure’s off me to have grandkids.”

Meredith acts as the Executive Director and COO of the Ryan Seacrest Foundation.  The siblings’ parents, Gary and Connie Seacrest, serve as President and CEO, and Vice President, Community Affairs and Hospital Relations, respectively.

Seacrest is filming the 15th, and final, season of American Idol and remains an executive producer for Keeping up with the Kardashians and Shahs of Sunset.
