What’s cuter than Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. enjoying a date night? It’s a double date with another throwback couple.
On Wednesday, January 9, both Gellar and Beverly Hills, 90210 actress Shannen Doherty took to Instagram to post a group photo from their double date night this week.
“Couples date night,” Doherty captioned the photo. “Everyone knows how much I love @sarahmgellar but do you know how much I also love @realfreddieprinze ? Laughed all night, ate way too much food at my favorite place @felixlosangeles with the great chef @evanfunke and obviously I love my man @kurtiswarienko.”
She added, “Perfect night with my closest and dearest.” Doherty’s husband Kurt Iswarienko is an electrician and producer with a long-standing career in Hollywood.

Gellar, arguably best known for her role as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, added a simple caption of: “Date night, couples edition.”
Of course, dining plays a key role in date nights typically for Gellar and Prinze. In 2016, the She’s All That heartthrob spoke about when he knew Gellar was the one for him.
“A lot of girls back then in Hollywood as far as the actresses, they didn’t eat, they ate salad. And I had gone on a date with a handful of them,” he previously recalled on a Facebook Live. “They would never eat what I would eat. You have to have that in common with me if we’re going to get along. So Sarah came to dinner with me, and we sat down and she ate everything. Including a crab that they let walk across the counter, then kill while it was alive in some oil and said, ‘It’s popcorn, try!’ And she ate it without even blinking, and I was like, ‘Yo, my girl is legit.’”

Doherty, 47, and Gellar, 41, have maintained a long-standing friendship, much like their marriages (the Charmed alum married to her husband Kurt Iswarienko since 2011, while Gellar and Prinze recently celebrated their 16th anniversary).
