Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. are one of the most low-key adorable couples in Hollywood, barely making public appearances together since the height of their acting careers in the ‘90s and early ‘00s. Thought the couple tends to shy away from the spotlight, they just marked 15 years of marriage last fall.

On Prinze’s 42nd birthday on March 8, the Buffy actress took to Instagram to share a selfie with her husband. “Gorgeous, friendly, sexy, sweet, intelligent, super talented, kind, charming, funny, witty, amazing smile….” she wrote on Instagram. “Well that’s enough about me…. #happybirthday @realfreddieprinze (you’re pretty great too).”

What started as a friendship eventually turned romantic after the two met on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer. In 2002, the She’s All That heartthrob and Gellar married. “A lot of girls back then in Hollywood as far as the actresses, they didn’t eat, they ate salad. And I had gone on a date with a handful of them,” Prince said in 2016 of his initial dating experiences with Gellar. “They would never eat what I would eat. You have to have that in common with me if we’re going to get along… So Sarah came to dinner with me, and we sat down and she ate everything,” he continued. “Including a crab that they let walk across the counter, then kill while it was alive in some oil and said, ‘It’s popcorn, try!’ And she ate it without even blinking, and I was like, ‘Yo, my girl is legit.’”

The two, now parents to Charlotte and Rocky, have spoken out in recent years about what makes their marriage successful compared to many of their A-list counterparts.

“Take the 10 minutes—put the phone down,” Gellar said to People in February 2016. “Have a cup of coffee together. Walk the dog at the end of the night. Read a story with your kids. Make the most of the time that you have. We are all pulled in so many directions, so make sure that, whichever one you are focusing on, you’re present.”
