A perfectly pretty lady in red. It was a Wizards of Waverly Place reunion this weekend when eldest Russo child David Henrie married Maria Cahill in Wilmington, California, and there to witness the nuptials was his former on-screen family members, including superstar multi-hyphenate Selena Gomez.
Gomez, 24, the executive producer of smash new Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, enlisted the help of her go-to stylist Chris Classen, who’s helped the Disney Channel standout gracefully transition in terms of fashion choices from former child star to beautiful young adult.
For the celebratory occasion, the chart-topping singer opted for a muted red knit dress that was delivered from Emilia Wickstead’s Fall 2016 collection. The sleeveless piece included an elegant high collar and form-flattering cut-outs at her waists as well as little openings resting right above the singer’s shoulders.
The length—somewhere between maxi and midi—was perfectly appropriate for a conservative church ceremony in sunny L.A., and the piece itself flattered her physique without being too skintight. “Selena Gomez having an Audrey moment,” Classen noted on his Instagram.
Along with her eye-catching dress, Gomez went for a clean-but-playful hairstyle that featured tiny braids. She paired her outfit with jewels by Jennifer Fisher, including large hoop earrings and nude Jimmy Choo classic pumps.
Red is one of the most flattering colors for Gomez, who looked elegant in a flaming version of the hue at the American Music Awards last November.
Along with privately joining Henrie for his wedding festivities, the star publicly took to social media on Sunday to congratulate her former on-screen sibling and his new wife. “Very much in my feelings about my big brother getting married,” the singer expressed on Instagram, alongside a slideshow of wedding pics. “Even though we for sure knew it would be him first. May God bless you and your beautiful wife Henrie!”

The Knot confirmed on Friday, April 21, that Henrie had married former Miss Delaware Cahill in a traditional church ceremony. “I knew Maria was special from the moment I saw her,” Henrie, 27, tells The Knot. “Now, almost three years later, it’s almost surreal that we’re finally getting married. We’re so blessed to be surrounded by our family and friends to celebrate this special day and I can’t wait to start this next adventure with my best friend and soulmate.”
