Pasta with a side of passport, please. Alexis Ohanian is quickly establishing himself as the rising king of romantic gestures, starting with his surprise holiday proposal in 2016, which was followed by his moving tribute to Serena Williams on their wedding day.
This weekend, Ohanian—the co-founder of Reddit—went viral in the Instagram husband ecosphere for yet another sweet gesture for his beloved wife. Williams noted that she wanted Italian for dinner, and so—they flew off to Venice, Italy, for a delicious meal and mouthwatering wine while sightseeing along the sleepy canals of the city.
“She wanted Italian for dinner, so…” Ohanian captured a slideshow on Instagram.
In the pictures, the tech wiz grins at Williams as she drinks a glass of wine. He also shared a photo from their gondola ride.
It was a quick trip for the couple, who returned home on Monday. “Venezia made a great first impression on the family. We’ll certainly be back,” Ohanian expressed in a separate post. “But there’s work to be done…”
He followed up with a photo from Philadelphia on Monday morning from the Art Museum steps. “You already know. Out here making the most of the jetlag this am with a run up these iconic steps,” he added.
It’s unclear how long the spouses were in the country. Williams, meanwhile, thanked a property that they had stayed at during their brief getaway. “Loving family time in beautiful Italy. What an insane room I stayed in. I got to look at stars from my bed at night!! This week has been a dream!” the tennis player wrote.
The pair married in New Orleans in November 2017, after getting engaged in December 2016.
