A woman of many talents! Tennis superstar Serena Williams is looking forward to planning all the details in her upcoming wedding to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.
The athlete, 35, appeared on Australian TV show The Project on Friday, January 13, and discussed the preliminary stages of the planning.
“Yeah, it’s exciting! It’s really exciting,” Williams said. The tennis ace and tech guru got engaged over the holidays, and the couple fittingly made the announcement on… Reddit! For the proposal, Ohanian orchestrated a romantic, surprise getaway to Rome, where he popped the question at the very same table where they had first met.
For the actual wedding, Williams will be the one orchestrating everything. The star said she’d like to plan the big day, which will include appointments with florists, vendors, and more. “I do event planning all the time actually,” the world’s top-ranked female tennis player noted. “I do events every year. I do everything from the food to the looks to everything.”
In fact, she could have an alternative career option. “I think, in a different life, I was a wedding planner,” she said. “Or just an event planner.”
Williams debuted her large engagement ring last week again on Reddit, but drew attention to her sneakers instead. “Engagement shoe game,” she wrote, alongside a photo of herself with her future husband.
