He’s getting hitched! Shark Tank investor Daymond John is engaged to his girlfriend, Heather Taras, his rep confirms to The Knot.
The entrepreneur–who founded popular lifestyle brand Fubu–first confirmed the happy news to Us Weekly on Friday, September 23. The newly-engaged businessman told the mag that he got down on one knee with a custom, emerald-cut, 9.5-carat diamond ring during the taping of the ABC show on Thursday night.
“I was a little nervous,” John told Us Weekly. “I had to create a speech. I knew a lot of people were looking at me. You know, you never know how someone is going to react, of course. She could always say no, and that’s the first time that I’ve been on the carpet pitching somebody! So, a little nerve-racking, of course.”
John and his future wife, Heather, share a 6-month-old baby girl named Minka, who was on set at the time her father proposed.
John’s engagement news follows another big Shark Tank wedding this past year. In July, Robert Herjavec and Dancing With the Stars pro Kym Johnson got married in a lavish wedding orchestrated by celebrity planner Mikie Russo.
“Being around them… it’s fire,” Russo previously told The Knot of Herjavec and Johnson. “They connect as a couple should. They have great communication.”
The new season of Shark Tank premieres Friday, September 23, at 9 p.m. ET, on ABC.
