The Internet is diggin’ this! WNBA player Skylar Diggins announced via social media on Monday, June 20, that she’s engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Daniel Smith.
Diggins, 25, took to her popular Instagram and Twitter accounts to reveal to fans that she and the former Notre Dame football player are set to marry. The Dallas Wings basketball player — who’s backed by Jay Z’s Roc Nation — posted pics of herself embracing her fiance and staring adoringly into his eyes at the Mary Tomas Gallery in Dallas, Texas. “6/12/16,” Diggins captioned one pic, in addition to referring as Smith as her “husband-crush Monday.”

The future groom echoed her sentiments on Monday, calling Diggins his “‘beautiful wife, beautiful wife.'”
Smith came to the gallery prepared, and brought along photographer Gavin Lueking. The professional photog snapped several pics of the couple standing before a shattered mirror with a colorful backdrop.

“Congrats to @SkyDigg4 & @SonsOfTyce,” Lueking captioned a cute collage of candid photos on Twitter. “Glad I could capture this moment for y’all!”

Diggins and Smith first met while attending college at Notre Dame. The couple made headlines two years ago when Drake obsessively praised Diggins with his poem, “Can I Dig In?” while hosting the 2014 ESPYS. At the time, an incensed Smith called out the rapper for flirting with his girlfriend at the public event.
Diggins is one of the most prominent players to currently play for the WNBA — and it’s been a long and arduous journey to the top. “[Boys] didn’t pass me the ball at first, so I didn’t have a chance to show them what I got,” the two-time WNBA All-Star told Vogue in an April 2014 interview. “And then one game I got the ball. Everybody just drives right, drives right, and I had a wide-open lane on the left, so I laid up and made it. They passed it to me from that point on.”
