It was an eventful holiday season for many celebrity couples. The Knot looks back on all the stars who got engaged over the holidays — from warm and fuzzy Christmas Day proposals to sleek and sparkly New Year’s Eve engagements. Check it out below!

Serena Williams

The tennis superstar received the surprise of a lifetime when her boyfriend, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, whisked her off to Rome to propose at the very table where they first met. Williams fittingly made the announcement on Reddit with a sweet poem. “But by choice. Down on knee. He said 4 words. And I said yes,” she recalled.

Ashley Greene

The Twilight actress technically didn’t get engaged on a holiday, but she announced her engagement news two days before the year ended on December 29. Greene shared a video of her fiance Paul Khoury’s elaborate proposal — “This is the most beautiful moment I could have ever hoped for,” Greene shared with fans. “You’ve successfully made me the happiest, luckiest woman alive. I can’t wait to show you my unfaltering immeasurable love for the rest of our lives. #engaged #💍#loveofmylife #futurehusband.”

Kacey Musgraves

The country singer kicked off Christmas Day engagement announcements, sharing a photo of her gorgeous new sparkler against the backdrop of the tree. “We had just been at my parent’s house randomly having a night of watching bittersweet old home tapes of all these beautiful family memories that were made in this little, old country house I grew up in that I now have,” Musgraves wrote on Instagram of how her fiance, Ruston Kelly, proposed. “We came back to that house afterwards and he had somehow pulled off having my sister + brother in-law sneak off and completely decorate my childhood bedroom in the most nostalgic and perfect Christmas decorations… Of all the places in the world I’ve gotten to see, nowhere could mean more than this happening in tiny Golden, Texas in the house that completely made me who I am.”

Bachelorette Jillian Harris

The season 5 lead also got engaged to longtime boyfriend Justin Pasutto on Christmas Day. “Well THAT was SOME Christmas morning!!!!!” Harris wrote, alongside a photo of her family—including the couple’s adorable son Leo— all clad in their festive pajamas. “OH MY GOD my heart cannot handle this much LOVE! @slipperygooseyou’ve made me the HAPPIEST girl in the world. 💍🍾❤️#Finally#ISimplyAskedForOneThingForChristmas.”

Brittany Daniel

The Sweet Valley High alum, who famously played troublemaking twins in the ‘90s series alongside sister Cynthia, announced her engagement to Adam Touni on Christmas Day. “I said yes!” Daniel wrote, alongside a photo on Instagram of her ring against the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. “My world just became brighter today. #engagement #christmas #love #proposal#marinheadlands #family @adam.touni.”

Kelsea Ballerini

The Grammy-nominated country singer got engaged to fellow artist Morgan Evans on Christmas Day. Ballerini took to Instagram to reveal her engagement, sharing a sweet photo of her gleaming new ring in focus. “This morning, 9 months and 13 days later, he got down on one knee in the kitchen while I was burning pancakes and asked me to marry him. Loving him has been the greatest gift of my life. And now I get to do it for life. #HECALLEDDIBS,” she gushed. Evans added: “When you know, you know … she’s perfect. #ultimatedibs.”

Sam Hunt

The Montevallo singer proposed to his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Hannah Lee Fowler, over the holidays, his rep confirmed to People on January 2.

Robbie Rogers

The soccer star got engaged to producer Greg Berlanti with a year-end proposal. “Thank you to everyone before us that made this moment possible… I feel extremely lucky and blessed to end 2016 engaged to the love of my life. Happy New Year!” Rogers shared, alongside a photo of himself with Berlanti—and a string quartet in the background.
