It looks like Topper has found himself a Tabitha. Shoe designer Tabitha Simmons is engaged to financier Topper Mortimer, and the couple’s famous friends decided to toast the future bride and groom at a Hamptons soiree this weekend.
Designer Tory Burch co-hosted the party at her Southampton home along with Moda Operandi founder Lauren Santo Domingo. Simmons took to Instagram to graciously thank the fashion-forward party hosts following the eventful bash—and to formally announce her engagement.
“It’s Official we are engaged !!!!!!!” Simmons expressed, alongside a photo of a custom couple necklace. “Thank you to @toryburchand @thelsd for hosting our engagement dinner!! Thank you @toryburch for opening up your beautiful home and to all the family and friends that came out to help celebrate our special night.” She ended the post with a series of emojis and one final note. “I am one lucky girl !!!” wrote Simmons.
The bride-to-be chose a floral blouse and skirt combination from Tory Burch’s fall/winter 2017 collection.
Topper’s half-brother Peter Davis, the publication director of The Daily Front Row, also took to Instagram to fete the pair. “My broski + best friend Topper @supa_dupa_is getting married to the beautiful + awesome @tabithasimmons + I’m SO stoked because now Tabitha is my sis! Score!” he wrote, alongside a pic with Simmons.

Topper is the first husband and high school sweetheart of socialite-turned-New York Housewife Tinsley Mortimer. The couple’s split was finalized back in 2009, and both moved on with their respective relationships and lives while remaining close friends.
Topper (nee Robert Livingston “Topper” Mortimer) was considered one of New York’s most eligible bachelors until he started dating Simmons in fall 2014. His family line traces back to John Jay, the first chief justice of the U.S. Tinsley, meanwhile, escaped New York City for a brief stint in Palm Beach, which ended in 2016 with an arrest following an unfortunate trespassing incident at her ex’s home. She is now back in the spotlight as a cast member of Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York City.
