Brace yourselves, wine-adoring brides and maids. This announcement could significantly improve the quality of your upcoming bachelorette parties and wedding-related activities. This week, Target announced that it will begin selling $5 bottles of wine in stores right before Labor Day. That’s right—bottles, not glasses.
The company unveiled a new brand called California Roots, which hails from (you guessed) California. The line of blends will include a chardonnay, a pinot grigio and a moscato, as well as cabernet sauvignon and a red blend.
“We think they’re going to love California Roots—these wines are just the right blend of incredible quality and amazing value that guests can only get at Target,” senior VP of food and beverage Jeff Burt said in a release. According to the company, adult beverages, which includes wine, beer and other alcohol, is one of the fastest growing categories at Target.
So, tell your bridesmaids and loved ones to stock up for the bachelorette party and the bridal shower. Grab bottles (plural) to enjoy with your fiancé, or enjoy a glass while going through that checklist. The wine drops on September 3, and will be carried in over 1,100 stores nationwide.
