With her long-awaited return, Taylor Swift somehow managed to fulfill bridesmaid duties this weekend as her best friend Abigail Anderson married longtime love Matt Lucier on the island of Martha’s Vineyard.
The Grammy winner was photographed by paparazzi fulfilling maid of honor duties—holding Anderson’s billowing wedding gown en route to the ceremony. Like any good member of the bridal party, Swift also came prepared to the reception with an entertaining speech, which was leaked to a fan account.
The clip reveals only a small portion of Swift’s speech, but it’s risqué. “She’s running after him, there’s falling, there’s stumbling,” Swift says in the video of her high school BFF and the groom. “They make it to the bathroom, and I hear sounds that I can never un-hear. And then there’s silence.”
The audience laughed in response, and most importantly, the couple didn’t seem to mind the overload of information.
While Swift has yet to share anything publicly from the wedding, the couple’s guests used their very own custom hashtag, “#cheerstotheluciers,” to document the occasion on social media.
Following the eventful weekend, the bride shared a photo of her new wedding band, writing: “Forever starts now 09.02.17.”
Martha’s Vineyard is a sentimental spot for the couple. It’s where they first met five years ago. “It was the summer of 2012,” Anderson, 27, previously told The Knot in an exclusive interview. “I had just finished up at the University of Kansas and decided to spend my summer on Martha’s Vineyard, where my aunt and uncle have a house. I got a summer job, met some friends, went to bars and truthfully, had one of those summers I thought you only read about in storybooks.”
This is Swift’s second known time performing bridesmaid duties. The superstar singer, meanwhile, released the second single from Reputation entitled, “…Ready For It?”
