It takes a confident woman to ask a superstar songstress to be her maid of honor, and Taylor Swift’s best friend, Britany Maack, did just that!
Maack married her longtime love, Benjamin LaManna, on February 20, and the most memorable moments of the wedding weekend were captured in a heartfelt video. Although there is no doubt that the new bride is the star on her special day, Swift fans can’t help but seek out their favorite crooner among the crowd.
The video is cued by Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years,” giving viewers a sense of nostalgia from the very start. During the wedding rehearsal, Swift greets the bride-to-be, who is calm and cool despite the busyness surrounding her. Following is a meal and a video playing which highlights the couple’s younger days.
On her childhood best friend’s wedding day, Swift is happy to let her best friend shine, helping her with her dress prior to the ceremony. During her walk down the aisle, Swift is simply the bride’s maid of honor; viewers almost forget she’s a celebrity, although she looks gorgeous is her blush, formfitting gown.
After being pronounced man and wife, the newlyweds kiss as Swift stands beside the new bride. She claps as they kiss – a couple clearly in love – making Swift fans contemplate when it will be her turn.

Post-ceremony, the longtime best friends stand holding their wedding bouquets. They raise them in the air, making for a gorgeous photo opp before the reception begins.
“He would chase her and pursue her through middle school and junior high and high school,” Swift shares during a speech. “Their paths would diverge and then come back together, and it would be so magically unpredictable. But at the same time so incredibly fated, just like the best love stories are.”
“My favorite accomplishment of my entire life,” Swift continues, “is that everything in my life has changed except for me and Britany. She was my partner in crime at Brownie’s Sleep Away Camp, and she was my date to the Grammy’s. And little did either of us know that Prince Charming for Britany would be the kid that sat next to me in class with the bull cut and the Lego lunchbox.”

As Swift sits by her best friend at the head table, the new bride’s grandfather passes her a vintage bottle of wine. The gesture is touching, as is the speech Swift delivers to the couple. “Tonight we’ve got mothers crying; we’ve got fathers that are filled with pride, and I – and all of the rest of your friends – are overjoyed for you, because we know that the best parts of your love story are yet to come. Congratulations!”

The video cuts to Walk the Moon’s “Shut Up and Dance,” and the reception turns into a party. Swift dances among the wedding-goers before serenading them with a performance. The singer chooses not to stand with the single ladies as the bride throws her bouquet. We have to wonder… when will Swift’s best friend be asked to return the favor of being maid of honor?
