No regrets here. Season 13 of The Bachelor had arguably one of the most dramatic endings ever, but it worked out for Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney.
At the time, Mesnick memorably handed out his final rose to Melissa Rycroft only to change his mind (on-air) so that he could end up with runner-up Malaney. Understandably, Mesnick subsequently felt the wrath of Bachelor Nation.
However, he and Malaney re-built their relationship despite the chaotic aftermath, and got engaged in Queenstown, New Zealand. They married on February 27, 2010, and still remain happily together seven years later.
“I’ve made some bad decisions in my life (sorority sisters please refrain from commenting about that 😜),” she expressed on Monday, February 27. “But I can say with 100% certainty that @jasonmesnick….you are far and away my best decision! 7 years strong!!!! I love you more today than ever!!”
The couple got married at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, and their ceremony was televised a week later in a special called The Bachelor: Jason and Molly’s Wedding. It rained during the nuptials, but the pair embraced the torrential downpour with laughter.
Guests included longtime host Chris Harrison and The Bachelorette‘s golden couple Trista and Ryan Sutter.
As for the Neil Lane sparkler usually promised to the Bachelor winner each season? Jason ended up designing his own with Neil Lane to surprise Molly on their fifth wedding anniversary.
“Molly was the only one who didn’t have a ring of mine and Jason really wanted to change that,” jeweler to the stars Lane told People in 2015. The former lead selected a 2.5-carat ring set in platinum and placed on a rose gold band.
“Molly is very sweet and feminine and the rose gold is so romantic,” Lane told People at the time. “They’re one of the nicest, sweetest couples I know and he’s madly in love with her. This was such a sweet way to celebrate their love and marriage.”
