When you know, you know. The Bachelor’s Ashley Iaconetti and The Bachelorette’s Jared Haibon are engaged following a long-winded journey to making their romance official.
Haibon popped the question during Bachelor in Paradise filming, the ABC franchise’s summertime spinoff series. According to People, Haibon proposed on the beach on Sunday, June 17, while the two were in Mexico for a visit during the next derivative of the show.
Haibon and Iaconetti have been friends for years, but their story took some time to develop. Iaconetti long had feelings for Haibon, but her sentiments weren’t exactly reciprocated until recently. It wasn’t until a charity event that she was spearheading that Haibon suddenly realized he had developed feelings for his old friend.
The pair officially unveiled their relationship to the public in May.

ASHLEY IACONETTI, JARED HAIBON
“I was in love,” he told People. “That was such a different experience being with someone in the show and in real life. [Iaconetti was] just so down to earth and easy-going, ambitious … sexy.”
The two touched on the topic of marriage around the same time their relationship was revealed. “As soon as we started dating, we both knew that this isn’t just for us to date as boyfriend/girlfriend—this was more so we were going to date because we see a potential life partner in each other,” Haibon added to the same mag. “We’ve talked about it but we’re just dating right now, we’re enjoying that. We literally just announced our relationship. The thing is, we’ve been so close for the past three years, I just know her inside and out. I know everything about Ashley.”
