Tiffany Thornton has found her sunshine after the rain. The Sonny With a Chance actress took to Instagram this week to share the happy news of her engagement to pastor Josiah Capaci. Along with the announcement, Thornton also explained to fans that though the relationship may seem sudden following the 2015 death of her late husband, Capaci had entered her life at just the right time.

I never could have imagined after losing Chris that I would be in love so quickly and especially couldn’t have imagined getting married again so quickly, but the Lord works in mysterious ways and I truly believe this blessing came along at the perfect time. Not only is Josiah my best friend but he is also a fresh start for me. He reminds me that love isn’t a once in a lifetime thing. He shows me that it’s possible to open my heart again and to love deeply in return. He is kind and understanding and humble. He is exactly what I needed when I didn’t even know I needed it. And now that I’m planning a wedding that will happen in a little over two months from now I’m trying not to stress about all the details. I just want to dwell in this place of joy and excitement. So to keep one more stress off my list I’m considering getting insurance on my engagement ring. I hear @JewelersMutual is the must-have for gems and jewelry and their free online quote is quick and easy. I know I’ll sleep easier once my ring is covered, just in case something were to happen. That way I can spend my time focusing on the many amazing events coming up and the new life we will start soon! #becomingaCapaci #engaged #JewelersMutual #ad

“I never could have imagined after losing Chris [Carney] that I would be in love so quickly,” she wrote. “And [I] especially couldn’t have imagined getting married again so quickly, but the Lord works in mysterious ways and I truly believe this blessing came along at the perfect time.” She accompanied the post with a sweet photo of herself sharing a kiss with Capaci amid greenery.

“Not only is Josiah my best friend but he is also a fresh start for me. He reminds me that love isn’t a once in a lifetime thing,” she continued. “He shows me that it’s possible to open my heart again and to love deeply in return. He is kind and understanding and humble. He is exactly what I needed when I didn’t even know I needed it.”

Thornton, 31, shares two sons, Kenneth James Carney, 4, and Bentley Cash Carney, 3, with her late husband, who died in a tragic car accident in December 2015. She and Carney were married for four years prior to his death.

In her Instagram caption, Thornton also revealed that she and Capaci plan to get married in just two months’ time—but rather than be stressed, she’s instead choosing to “dwell in this place of joy and excitement.”
