She has it all. Actress Tika Sumpter is engaged to her co-star Nicholas James!
The Haves and the Have Nots star, 36, will appear on daytime talk show The Real on Monday, January 23, to announce her engagement news in a pre-taped segment.

Co-host Loni Love was first to point out a shiny object on Sumpter’s ring finger during the sit-down chat–and the newly-engaged star laughed in response.
“Yeah, I’m engaged,” Sumpter confirmed. The proposal took place on Christmas Day, and the Southside With You actress suspected something was brewing.
“He did all of these amazing things. I went on a little hunt in the house…” she recalled, thinking the activity was part of a prospective proposal. “I thought he was going to propose. And it was a Peloton bike he’d bought me… and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s cool!’”
Then, James pulled out a letter from behind their newborn daughter, Ella-Loren, whom the couple welcomed in October 2016. “He was like, ‘Ella has something to say to you.’ And it was just this letter of beauty. And then he proposed.”
Sumpter loved how he asked. “It was simple,” she expressed. “It’s been burning a hole in his body for a while, so he was like, ‘I wanted to do this… now.’”

Sumpter recently played young Michelle Obama in the biopic Southside with You. She will soon appear on a new political drama called The 313, which was picked up by CBS.
