Vanderpump Rules’ Katie Maloney dishes to The Knot new details on her upcoming “enchanting forest” wedding to co-star Tom Schwartz and her dream honeymoon location!

Schwartz proposed to Maloney on July 7, 2015 and their proposal aired on Vanderpump Rules a whole six months later in January, 2016. With the couple’s late-airing engagement and their spot-on The Sandlot-themed engagement photos out of the way, it’s finally time for the couple to plan the main event!

“We have narrowed down the locations and the date time frame,” Maloney told The Knot. “Until everything is set we are keeping it under wraps. We can say it will be later this year!”

The bride-to-be shared exclusively with The Knot that the couple are looking at an outdoor location – a forest – as their wedding ceremony spot. “We want an enchanting forest backdrop and have found some gorgeous venues that we can absolutely see ourselves getting married at,” Maloney said, and the couple have agreed that that a smaller wedding would be better.

“It’s important that our wedding feel intimate,” Maloney told The Knot, citing her and Schwartz’s wedding guest list as one of the most difficult aspects of wedding planning. Sharing that the cost of the wedding is a factor the bride also explained, “We want to keep it to the people immediate and closest to it – the people who have been there throughout our relationship who a special to us both. We don’t want to be meeting people for the first time on such an intimate special day for us.”

Schwartz and Maloney’s wedding will follow the “enchanting forest” theme in color and decor. The Vanderpump Rules star told The Knot, “I really want jewel tones. I love rich colors like emerald, sapphire, fig and amber. I think those colors will work beautifully with a woodsy backdrop.”

The bride-to-be is currently keeping her bridesmaids under wraps saying, “I haven’t shared who I want in my bridal party with anyone, including the ones I will be asking. I want it to be a special time I ask them before I say who.” With that level of secrecy the bridesmaids dress ideas have also had to wait.

“This is something I want to share with my bridesmaid and have their input. After all they are the ones that will be wearing them,” she said, “I think they should have a say in it.” But with the wedding details she’s already shared, perhaps we can expect some beautiful rich jewel tones to appear in the bridal party attire.

Without formal bridesmaids (yet), Maloney also hasn’t begun to think of her bridal shower, telling The Knot, “Oh my goodness. I haven’t got there just yet.” She does have a relaxing day in mind however, sharing, “I would love a day of eating, drinking and pampering with all my ladies!”

But even without her bridesmaids knowing they are part of Team Maloney the bride told The Knot, “My friends have been so helpful and supportive so far even early in the planning, Stassi included. She has been a huge part of my life and even when Tom and I first started dating.”

She added, “I’m so happy that we were able to work out our issues and to move past them to get to a really amazing place. We have a different friendship now, a more special and important bond.” Fellow Vanderpump Rules co-star Stassi Schroeder’s wedding invite was previously in question after some drama that aired on the show, but was recently seen helping Maloney choose the perfect wedding dress!

The bride said of her wedding gown, “When I first put it on I got goose bumps! I hadn’t expected to find a dress so soon but it is so gorgeous and I really feel myself in it. I just knew that it is the dress I am going to marry Tom in!”

Before Maloney and Schwartz tie the knot, though, bachelor/bachelorette parties are being planned. The bride shared with The Knot that, “because we share so many friends we really want to do a joint bachelor/bachelorette party.”

“We of course will do something separate but think it would be most fun celebrating together. We mostly will plan but also take input from our buddies,” she said. Though she joked that, “Tom tends to go overboard in general,” the bride said she wasn’t “sweating” his plans for a bachelor party saying, “I haven’t given him rules but he obviously knows the limits.”

Though Maloney didn’t explicitly state her honeymoon destination, she did exclusively share with The Knot that her “favorite place in the world is Greece,” adding, “Tom has never been and I would love to experience it with him. It’s so gorgeous and romantic.”

The bride couldn’t say for certain whether her wedding day would air on Vanderpump Rules but did share with The Knot that it isn’t out of the question! “We have shared so much of our relationship with our audience and so many supportive fans,” Maloney said, “we would love to invite cameras to capture our wedding.”
